How to achieve Happiness :-)

Having the right balance in your life is very important to maintain, sustain, grow and succeed. A balance that many of us strive to achieve on daily basis. We want to be successful, we want to own great stuff, we want to be spiritual and still have fun, we want to inspire others, and we want to be inspired by others, we want to be famous, but also be able to live our life without others judging our actions, we want to be smart just like Steve Jobs, be an entrepreneur like Richard Branson, run like Usain Bolt, dance like, sing like, cook like, live like … and the list goes on

Question remains, what’s more important though? How can we pursuit it? When do we say it’s enough?, personally I don’t think such limits exists. Human will always race to be the top. You can find the happiest person on earth in the poorest country. We have a virtue in Arabic “Contentment is an eternal treasure” which we truly believe but not many of us achieve.

I truly believe that our eternal quest is to be happy. Fun fact, out of the top 10 emojis used at least 40% of it has a smiley face. Yet being happy is very subjective and depends on the moment of time you are in, as there is no common way of life that defines how can you really be happy in life. So if you see a book that says 10 ways for you to be happy, don’t buy it. A kid feels happy when he’s around his family, friends, toys and candy. Kids form the truest form of happiness, it’s how we nurture them to understand that they can get happy no matter how or what we treat them. That slowly changes once they grow up, once they mingle with different people and realize that materials and objects can make them happy. Being part of a group, acing all the tests, being popular makes them happy, having the latest gaming console, getting the fastest internet connection (Awasr what’s up). They grow up, getting a job will make them happy, every one of us remembers the first salary they ever received right or the first car they ever drove or the first crush they ever had. Slowly you tend to forget about them and start looking for other ways to be happy.

A lot of what was mentioned gives you momentarily, temporary, quick form of being happy. None of them comes close to what is true eternal happiness is, when your heart and soul are in full harmony in contentment and in peace with the universe (Deep stuff right !!!). I am sure that many would say, that’s where religion comes to support your eternal pursuit of happiness. It’s when you have a higher purpose of life besides the materialistic and running towards success. Yet to come to think of it, it’s also the hardest one to achieve. How can you pursuit something you can’t see, the unknown, unknowable? Who can guide you towards this path?

All I ask from you now is to sit back, relax, disconnect, think, remember, learn, read, laugh, appreciate, pray, plan and then get up to continue through the path you have set to yourself and that will satisfy your ultimate objective in life and may it all come true to you one day (Then give me 10% of anything you make).
